Overrunning Clutch
Overrunning Clutch
The overruning clutch allows any implement to free-wheel to a stop. Any implement with a large rotating mass may need overload protection by allowing it to free-wheel to a stop. The clutch prevents the machine from driving the tractor when the PTO drive shaft has stopped. The overruning clutch direction is dependant on the application, the normal tractor PTO direction is clockwise . Overrunning clutches do not absorb any energy, so start up overloads must be absorbed by other means.
PERFORMANCE BENEFITS
Allows inertia from implement to dissipate without putting load back through the tractor or system.
Easy maintenance.
Smooth operation.
Offered in various drive shaft sizes and hub configurations.
Easier connection by enabling the shaft to be aligned with the tractor PTO spline.
DESIGN FEATURES
Overrunning clutch is offered in two different
configurations – for both clockwise (R) and counter-clockwise (L) overrunning directions.
The counterclockwise version is recognized by the groove.
