Clutches

Weasler Engineering offers a wide variety of custom clutch and clutch yoke solutions that offer superior torque overload protection for virtually any application.

Automatic

TorQmaster low pulsing options with an automatic reset are used primarily in round balers, spreaders or mixer feeders. They offer a level of implement overload protection not possible with other types of clutches. The compact, efficient design disconnects the power source from the drivetrain when overload occurs, and will not reconnect until speed is reduced to near zero. During disengagement, Weasler’s patented design does not allow or generate damaging torque spikes or heat, helping to protect you and your equipment.

Friction

Weasler’s patented friction clutches are indispensable in certain agricultural implement applications. Used primarily in square balers, rotary tillers, or rotary mowers, a Weasler friction clutch carries torque during overload with automatic reset. It is the only torque limiter to continuously transmit power while overloaded, offering valuable protection in high inertia machines and when leveling out torsional fluctuations due to high cyclic loads. During operation, a Weasler friction clutch transmits limited power, and the TorQmaster friction clutch isolates and dissipates heat quickly to protect your machine.

Overrunning

Used primarily in mowers, tillers and square balers, Weasler overrunning clutches limit reverse torque during machine shutdown. They are used to freewheel in one direction, while driving in the other direction of rotation. When the driven shaft is rotating faster than the driving shaft, the Weasler Engineering clutch mechanically disconnects the driving shaft from the driven shaft. It allows your implement to free wheel to a stop, independent of when the PTO is stopped. Our overrunning clutches will not absorb any energy, so inertia start-up peaks must be damped by other means.

Ratchet

Weasler Engineering’s high pulsing clutches with automatic reset are used primarily in combines, rakes, and round balers. They ensure implement overload protection with a unique pulsating torque while disengaged. Our compact clutch slips in a pulsating manner when overload occurs, which helps to push through any blockage. Often, you can stay seated and simply reduce speed to clear the blockage.

Shear Bolt

If you want simple and economical implement overload protection, Weasler Ball Shear shear bolt clutches provide a complete disconnect with a manual reset. They are used primarily in forage wagons, round balers, spreaders, and snow blowers. The compact, efficient design disconnects the power source from the drivetrain when overload occurs. During disengagement, our smart design does not allow or generate damaging torque spikes or heat. Once you replace the easily accessible bolt, your machine can be restarted. Weasler offers a traditional implement mounted configuration, as well as free motion and hidden bolt tractor shaft mounted options for easiest installation and service.During disengagement, Weasler’s patented design does not allow or generate damaging torque spikes or heat, helping to protect you and your equipment.
